Commercial Pilot Course Details
This course aims to help people with or without piloting experience obtain a commercial pilot’s license in Chile. A commercial pilot’s license allows its holder to operate an aircraft as pilot in command in exchange for remuneration.
The requirements for obtaining the license are established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), but their implementation varies considerably from country to country. According to ICAO, the license is obtained by successfully completing a course with at least 200 flight hours, passing the written exams administered by the Chilean Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), and satisfactorily demonstrating flying skills to an examiner during a flight test (which includes an oral exam).
In Chile, pilots can receive training under DAN 141, which allows them to apply for their commercial pilot’s license with 150 flight hours. However, most pilots require between 160 and 200 flight hours to complete their training.
Experience: Low.
Duration: 20 hours.
